Deye SUN-15K-SG05LP3-AU | 15kW Three Phase Hybrid Inverter · 2 MPPT
Three-phase hybrid power for homes and businesses that run on everything
The Deye SUN-15K-SG05LP3-AU is a 15kW three-phase hybrid inverter that manages solar generation, battery storage, grid interaction, and backup in one IP65-rated unit. Two independent MPPT channels accept up to 22,500W of PV input, a 280A battery interface handles fast charge and high-draw discharge, and 100% unbalanced output across phases means the inverter adapts to your load not the other way around.
For NZ three-phase properties building serious solar-plus-storage systems larger homes, farms, workshops, and commercial sites this is the hybrid brain that ties panels, batteries, grid, and generator together without compromise.
Dual MPPT two trackers across a wide voltage window
Two independent MPP trackers (2+2 strings) optimise four strings of panels simultaneously within a 160–650V MPPT range at above 99% MPPT efficiency. That wide voltage window accommodates long strings, high-voltage panels, and arrays split across different orientations giving installers real design flexibility.
Two trackers on a three-phase inverter is the practical sweet spot: enough independence to handle a north/west split or partial shading, without the cost of three separate channels. For a single large roof plane, one tracker per half of the array keeps everything balanced.
22,500W of PV input 1.5× oversizing
The inverter accepts up to 22,500W of solar panel input on a 15kW AC output a 1.5× DC-to-AC ratio that captures significantly more energy during the shoulder hours and overcast conditions when panels produce below rated output. Over a full NZ year, that oversizing translates directly into more kWh stored and consumed.
97.6% peak efficiency
At 97.6% maximum conversion efficiency, the SUN-15K wastes very little in the DC-to-AC-to-battery flow. For a three-phase hybrid inverter juggling solar, storage, and grid simultaneously, that’s a strong number and it compounds into real savings over a decade of daily cycling.
100% unbalanced output real-world load handling
Each phase independently delivers up to 50% of rated power (7.5kW per phase), and the inverter supports 100% unbalanced output. In practice, that means a heavy load on one phase a workshop compressor, a heat pump, a large appliance doesn’t force the other phases to match. The inverter feeds power where it’s needed, adapting to the actual load distribution across your three-phase supply.
280A battery throughput
The battery interface is built for serious storage:
- 280A max charge / 280A max discharge — among the highest in its class
- 48V low-voltage battery support — lead-acid and lithium-ion (LV)
- Self-adaptive BMS communication — automatic compatibility with your battery’s management system
- Multiple batteries in parallel — scale storage as needs grow
- 6 custom time-of-use periods for charge/discharge scheduling
- Transformer isolation design — electrical safety between battery and AC circuits
The 6 time periods let you programme the system to charge from solar during the day, discharge during evening peak pricing, and hold a reserve for overnight backup extracting maximum value from every kWh.
Scales to 10 units in parallel
Connect up to 10 SUN-15K units in parallel for on-grid and off-grid operation scaling the system to 150kW for commercial sites, multi-building properties, or phased installations that start small and grow. Each unit operates independently while the parallel system balances load across them.
2× peak power for 10 seconds
In off-grid mode, the inverter delivers twice its rated output (30kW) for up to 10 seconds enough surge headroom to handle compressor start-ups, motor inrush, and heavy transient loads that would trip a lesser inverter.
AC-coupling for existing solar
Already running solar with a separate inverter? The SUN-15K supports AC-coupling, adding battery storage and hybrid management to your existing system without replacing what’s already installed. Retrofit storage, don’t rebuild a practical upgrade path for properties that went solar before batteries were viable.
Generator integration
The inverter accepts energy from a diesel or petrol generator, storing it in batteries for later use. For off-grid NZ properties, rural sites, or situations where solar and grid both fail, generator input keeps the system charged and the house running.
70A continuous AC passthrough
A 70A AC passthrough rating ensures substantial grid power can flow through the inverter to your loads even when solar and battery aren’t contributing important for three-phase sites with high baseline consumption.
IP65 outdoor-rated
The IP65-rated enclosure handles dust, rain, and outdoor exposure, so the inverter mounts on an exterior wall, in a carport, or in an outbuilding without needing a separate weatherproof cabinet. At 50.6kg in a commercial-grade housing, it’s built for permanent installation.
