The Deye Single Phase Hybrid Inverter 3 MPPT is a 12kW single-phase hybrid inverter that manages your entire home energy system from a single unit: solar in, battery storage, grid interaction, and backup all controlled through three independent MPPT channels and a battery interface that pushes 250A of charge and discharge current. It accepts up to 24kW of PV input, supports parallel operation up to 16 units, and handles both on-grid and off-grid modes.

Triple MPPT three trackers for complex roofs

Three independent MPP trackers (2+2+2 strings) optimise six strings of panels simultaneously, each tracking within a 150–425V MPPT window at up to 99.9% MPPT efficiency. That means panels across three different roof faces, tilt angles, or shading conditions all run at their own peak without dragging each other down.

Most residential inverters offer one or two trackers. Three gives you the flexibility to cover a full NZ roof  north, east, and west faces without efficiency compromise, and without needing multiple inverters.

24kW of PV input serious oversizing headroom

The inverter accepts up to 24,000W of solar panel input a 2:1 DC-to-AC ratio on a 12kW inverter. That massive oversizing headroom captures more energy during the morning, evening, and cloudy periods when panels run below rated output. In practice, more panels on the roof means more kWh into your battery and your home, even on mediocre sun days.

At 97.6% maximum conversion efficiency, the SUN-12K wastes almost nothing turning your solar DC into usable AC. Need more than 12kW? Connect up to 16 SUN-12K units in parallel for both on-grid and off-grid operation scaling the system to 192kW for larger homes, commercial sites, or multi-building setups. That parallel capability means you start with one inverter and grow without replacing it.

AC-coupling for existing solar systems

Already have a solar system with a separate inverter? The SUN-12K supports AC-coupling, letting you add battery storage and hybrid management to your existing setup without ripping out what’s already installed. Retrofit, don’t replace a practical upgrade path for homes that went solar before batteries were mainstream.

Generator and diesel backup

The inverter can store energy from a diesel or petrol generator, charging batteries when both solar and grid are unavailable. For off-grid NZ properties or sites where outages stretch beyond what solar and battery alone can cover, generator integration adds an extra layer of resilience.

IP65 install it indoors or out

An IP65-rated enclosure seals the inverter against dust and water jets, so it installs confidently outdoors on an exterior wall, in a carport, or in a garage. No need for a dedicated indoor space or a separate weatherproof enclosure.

Colour touch LCD for real-time control

A full-colour touch LCD on the front panel gives you real-time monitoring and system control without pulling out a phone check generation, battery state, grid flow, and adjust settings at a glance. At 35.6kg in a 420 × 670 × 233mm cabinet, it mounts cleanly on a standard wall.
