BLUETTI Elite 400 Portable Power Station: 3,840Wh, 2,600W

The BLUETTI Elite 400 is a 3,840Wh LiFePO₄ portable power station with 2,600W of 230V pure sine wave output, a 15ms UPS switchover and up to 1,000W of solar input. Built-in wheels and a telescopic handle make its 39kg easy to move, suiting NZ home backup, caravans and off-grid baches.

Key Features and Benefits

3,840Wh in a single unit

The Elite 400 stores 3,840Wh in one self-contained unit, with no expansion batteries to buy or connect. That’s enough to keep a fridge, lights, modem and devices running through a long power cut, or to power a multi-day camping trip.

2,600W output with 3,900W Power Lifting

The pure sine wave inverter delivers 2,600W continuous, enough for microwaves, coffee machines, power tools, TVs and most kitchen appliances. Power Lifting Mode runs resistive heating devices such as kettles and heaters rated up to 3,900W.

15ms UPS for seamless backup

Plug your essentials into the Elite 400 and leave it connected to the wall. If the grid goes down, it switches to battery power in 15 milliseconds, fast enough to keep most computers, modems and home office gear running without interruption.

Fast AC and solar charging

Charge from a standard 230V wall socket at up to 2,300W for a full charge in about 2.5 hours. Add up to 1,000W of solar (12–60V, 20A) and charge from AC and solar together for faster top-ups. You can also charge from a car, generator or lead-acid battery.

Wheels, telescopic handle and side handles

At 39kg, the Elite 400 is heavy, but its built-in wheels and telescopic trolley handle let one person roll it from the garage to the lounge or out to the caravan. Side handles help when lifting it into a vehicle.

Smart app control

Monitor and control the Elite 400 over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in the BLUETTI app, including remote wake-up and charge/discharge scheduling.

Safe LiFePO₄ chemistry

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cells and a battery management system protect against overcharging, over-discharging, overheating and short circuits.

Who Is the Elite 400 For in New Zealand?

  • Home backup: keep the fridge, freezer, lights, internet and phones running through storm-related outages, with UPS protection for your home office.
  • Caravans and motorhomes: roll it on board and run 230V appliances at freedom camping spots.
  • Off-grid baches and cabins: pair it with solar panels for daily off-grid power.
  • Tradies and events: run power tools, lighting and catering gear without a petrol generator.

The Elite 400 isn’t expandable. If you expect to need more capacity later, compare the BLUETTI Apex 300, which scales to over 19kWh with expansion batteries. For a lighter option, see the AC200PL (2,304Wh) or Premium 200 V2.

How Long Will the Elite 400 Run My Appliances?

As a guide, allowing for inverter losses, the Elite 400 delivers roughly 3,400Wh of usable AC energy.

Continuous AC load Estimated runtime
100W (modem, lights, laptop) About 34 hours
500W (TV, fans, small appliances) About 6.8 hours
1,000W (microwave, power tools) About 3.4 hours
2,000W (kettle, heater) About 1.7 hours

Estimates are for reference only. Fridges, freezers and heat pumps cycle on and off, so their real runtime varies.

Warranty and Support in New Zealand

The Elite 400 comes with a 5-year BLUETTI warranty. Your purchase is also covered by your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. For help sizing a backup system, choosing solar panels or making a warranty claim, contact the Cybotix Energy team.

What appliances can the BLUETTI Elite 400 run?

The Elite 400 runs appliances with a combined draw of up to 2,600W, including fridges, freezers, microwaves, coffee machines, power tools, TVs and lights. Power Lifting Mode runs resistive heating devices such as kettles and heaters rated up to 3,900W. Add up the wattage of everything you want to run at once to make sure it stays within 2,600W.

How long will the Elite 400 run my devices?

Allowing for inverter losses, the Elite 400 provides roughly 3,400Wh of usable AC energy. That runs a 100W load for about 34 hours, a 500W load for nearly 7 hours, or a 1,000W microwave for over 3 hours. Fridges and freezers cycle on and off, so a full-size fridge can typically run for well over a day.

How fast does the Elite 400 charge?

From a standard NZ wall socket, the Elite 400 charges at up to 2,300W, reaching 80% in about 1.8 hours and full in about 2.5 hours. Combining AC and solar speeds this up further. From solar alone, 1,000W of panels takes about 6 hours in ideal conditions, and longer during NZ winter.

Can the Elite 400 work as a UPS?

Yes, the Elite 400 has a UPS function with a 15ms switchover. Leave it plugged into the wall with your devices connected, and it switches to battery power almost instantly if the grid fails. That keeps most computers, modems and home office equipment running. For critical medical equipment, check with the device manufacturer first.

Can I add expansion batteries to the Elite 400?

No, the Elite 400 isn’t expandable. Its 3,840Wh battery is built in, and there’s no port for add-on batteries. If you want a system you can grow later, the BLUETTI Apex 300 starts at 2,764.8Wh and expands to over 19kWh with B300K batteries, or 58kWh across three units.

How heavy is the Elite 400, and is it easy to move?

The Elite 400 weighs about 39kg, but it’s designed to roll rather than be carried. Built-in wheels and a telescopic trolley handle let one person move it around the house or out to the caravan, and side handles help when lifting it into a vehicle. Keep it upright during transport.

Should I choose the Elite 400 or the Apex 300?

Choose the Elite 400 if you want the most capacity in one unit with no add-ons: it has 3,840Wh built in and wheels for mobility. Choose the Apex 300 if you need more output or plan to expand. It delivers 3,840W and scales to over 19kWh with expansion batteries, but starts at 2,764.8Wh.

What warranty does the BLUETTI Elite 400 have in NZ?

The BLUETTI Elite 400 comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty. In New Zealand, your purchase is also covered by your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If you have a problem with your power station, contact Cybotix Energy and our team will help you with troubleshooting or a warranty claim.
