The BLUETTI B230 is a 2,048Wh LiFePO₄ expansion battery that doubles the capacity of the AC200MAX and AC200L and adds extra runtime to the AC200PL. It also works on its own as a portable DC power bank with 100W USB-C and 12V outputs. Rated for 3,500+ cycles, it suits NZ home backup and camping.

Connect a B230 to an AC200MAX or AC200L and total capacity doubles to 4,096Wh. With an AC200PL, one B230 takes the system to 4,352Wh. That’s enough to keep a fridge, lights, modem and devices running much longer through a power cut.

Use it on its own

The B230 has its own outputs: a 100W USB-C port, an 18W USB-A port and a regulated 12V/10A car outlet. Use it without a power station to charge laptops, phones and cameras, or to run a 12V car fridge, fan or lights at camp.

LiFePO₄ cells rated for 3,500+ cycles

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) cells are rated for 3,500+ cycles to 80% of original capacity. The built-in battery management system protects against overcharging, over-discharging and overheating.

Flexible charging

Charge the B230 through its connected power station, or on its own with a 500W AC adapter such as the BLUETTI T500 (sold separately). Add the BLUETTI D050S DC Charging Enhancer to charge from solar panels (up to 500W), a car socket or a 12/24V lead-acid battery.

Pass-through charging

Run your devices from the B230’s outputs while it charges.

Which BLUETTI Power Stations Work With the B230?

The B230 is not compatible with the AC300, AC500 or Apex 300. For those, choose the B300K or B500K.

Which BLUETTI power stations is the B230 compatible with?

The B230 connects directly as an expansion battery to the BLUETTI AC200MAX, AC200L and AC200PL. It also works in Power Bank Mode with the AC180P and AC70P, where it recharges the power station. The AC200P, EB150 and EB240 connect through the D050S DC Charging Enhancer. It is not compatible with the AC300, AC500 or Apex 300.

How many B230 batteries can I connect to my AC200MAX, AC200L or AC200PL?

You can connect up to two B230 batteries to an AC200MAX, for a total of 6,144Wh. The AC200L and AC200PL each take one B230, bringing total capacity to 4,096Wh and 4,352Wh respectively. For more capacity on the AC200L or AC200PL, BLUETTI recommends the larger B300 expansion battery instead.

Can the BLUETTI B230 be used on its own?

Yes, the B230 works as a standalone DC power bank. It has a 100W USB-C port for laptops, an 18W USB-A port for phones, and a regulated 12V/10A car outlet for car fridges, fans and lights. It has no AC outlets, so to run 230V appliances you’ll need to connect it to a compatible BLUETTI power station.

How do I charge the B230 without a power station?

Charge the B230 on its own with a 500W AC adapter, such as the BLUETTI T500, sold separately, which takes about 5.5 to 6 hours. For solar, car or lead-acid battery charging, you’ll need the BLUETTI D050S DC Charging Enhancer. The B230 has one charging inlet, so it can only use one charging method at a time.

Does the B230 work with the AC300, AC500 or Apex 300?

No, the B230 isn’t compatible with the AC300, AC500 or Apex 300. Those power stations use the B300, B300K or B500K expansion batteries. If you own one of them, choose the B300K (2,764.8Wh) or B500K (5,120Wh) for extra capacity. The B230 is designed for the AC200 series.

Can I use the B230 with the AC180P or AC70P?

Yes, the AC180P and AC70P support the B230 in Power Bank Mode. In this mode, the B230 recharges the power station rather than acting as a directly connected expansion battery. It adds 2,048Wh of stored energy, which is useful for longer camping trips or extended power cuts. A connection cable is sold separately.

Can I mix the B230 with a B300 on the AC200MAX?

Yes, the AC200MAX supports mixing the B230 with B300, B300K and B210 expansion batteries, up to two batteries in total. For example, an AC200MAX with one B230 and one B300 gives you 7,168Wh. Check each battery’s connection cable requirements before setting up a mixed system.

What warranty does the BLUETTI B230 have in NZ?

The BLUETTI B230 comes with a 4-year manufacturer warranty. In New Zealand, your purchase is also covered by your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
